January 1, 2016

Firstly I hope everyone has had a good Christmas and New Year. As I write this I’m enjoying a quiet NYE with my parents. Obviously this is a massive year for me, perhaps the biggest year of my life and I’m really excited about 2016.

I’ve had a really enjoyable December. I’ve not been drinking much since September but, with so many friends and family to see over the festive period,  I went a bit wild. I jumped back on the bike yesterday and struggled, immediately regretting all those beers and late nights.

Although mostly complete, most of December’s aims will be posted on the website over the next few weeks.

Xmas/Winter photoshoot back home in Scarborough
I’ve done this, expect a blog post soon with some good news. I also needed some photos for my instagram so they will be put to good use!

I’ve a special idea for an xmas post which will take a bit of effort so I want to see that through
I’ve also done this. Will be posting early next week hopefully.

I need to utilise my spare time over xmas to plan various fundraising events and I need to sit down with Rob (the RV man) and sort the route etc out.
We’ve spent a while looking through things and it’s fair to say I have a massive 8 months ahead of me. There is just so much to do and we’re equipped with lists to work through over the next few months.

I absolutely need to hammer these core exercises every night without exception, also I’ve been doing press-ups. I aim to do 40 in one go by January.
I’ve been doing well with my core stuff until the festive period started. I have been out a bit too much and I’m looking forward to getting back to normal training. Having done 40 press ups before xmas, I just attempted for the camera but failed at 35! I will be back.

I feel quite disappointed with myself this month, having specifically asked my trainer to allocate me lots of rides. I was lured – or more specifically I lured myself – into the festive period and I’ve been blathered and missed training multiple times. This was exactly what I wanted to avoid as I’ve taken backward steps, but what’s done is done.

No excuses now with only 8 months left to go. I’m feeling very excited but also really apprehensive about the year ahead. As sad as it sounds I’m looking forward to normality and training again everyday. My main concern at the moment is the distances I need to cycle, I will feel much more relaxed when I can ride 100+ miles comfortably. Hopefully I will be reaching a century in the next couple of months.

Aims for December

  • I’ve a load of events and announcements to make, so they need to be released throughout December. There will be 4/5 posts this month!
  • I need to make an introduction image thing for the start of all my YouTube videos which will feature my logo and the sponsors.
  • I need to decide what bike I’m buying for the ride, and perhaps buy it!
  • I need get my head down for this next month and train hard to make up for the lost days. No excuses.

Thanks for reading. I wish you all the best for 2016!
